UN Office on Drugs and Crime

UNODC on CRSV:

Conflict-related sexual violence requires our combined and coordinated response. UNODC promotes crime prevention and criminal justice responses to gender-based violence to enhance access to justice for female victims in conflict and post-conflict countries. The Office supports justice systems in preventing and responding to serious forms of violence against children.  UNODC also supports Member States to develop and implement legislative and criminal justice procedures to address sexual and gender-based violence committed by terrorist groups including when committed against children recruited and exploited by terrorist and violent extremist groups. To accelerate protection and resilience against conflict-related sexual violence, UNODC will intensify its cooperation with the UN System, in particular UN’s peacekeeping missions, United Nations Team of Experts on Rule of Law and Sexual Violence in Conflict, regional organizations, and civil society.
