As the UN Action Secretariat, we support and coordinate the work of our member entities on conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV). Our Secretariat is housed within the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict (OSRSG-SVC) at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Coordinator

Letitia returned to UN Action in the role of Coordinator in 2024. She pioneered innovative policies and programmes on CRSV since the inception of the agenda, and regularly delivers trainings and briefings to global audiences. She previously served as Team Leader for Political Advocacy & Communications in the OSRS-SVC, as the Advocacy & Women’s Rights Specialist for UN Action, on the Governance, Peace, and Security team of UNIFEM, and, prior to joining the UN, as Policy Advisor on Women & War to ICRC, Legal Advisor to the ICRC Regional Delegation for the Pacific, and IHL Coordinator for the Australia Red Cross. Letitia has undertaken field research and capacity building in the DRC, Liberia, Rwanda, the Balkans, Timor-Leste, Cambodia, and elsewhere.

Lindsay Forslund

Deputy Coordinator

Lindsay worked for six years in the Democratic Republic of Congo on CRSV and WPS as a Women’s Protection Advisor, Gender Advisor for the Peacekeeping Mission, and Trust Fund Specialist with UNDP, where she managed a USD 50 million multi-partner trust fund dedicated to stabilization and peacebuilding. Before working in the DRC, Lindsay worked with UNDP’s Bureau for Development Policy on programming for women’s pollical participation and governance. In addition to the UN, she has also worked in the field for I/NGOs, such as Search for Common Ground, during the 2011 political process in Liberia. Lindsay has a strong interest in how media and film can be used a tool to amplify the voices of women’s rights activists and organisations, and she previously worked at the documentary lab within the Canadian film Centre and National Film Board of Canada.

Tracey Tucker

Programme Assistant

Tracey joined the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict as Programme Management Assistant on 17 July 2023. Tracey has more than 25 years’ experience in administrative, human resources, finance, and communication. In January 2017, Tracey began her UN career with UNEP in Kingston, Jamaica in the role of Team Assistant and then Finance and Budget Assistant. Tracey has a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management from Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Jamaica.

Fareen Walji

Grants Management and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist

Fareen joined the UN Action Secretariat in 2019. She has previously worked with or consulted for UN Women, UNFPA, UNDP and the WHO, as well as academic institutions, feminist funds and grassroots human rights organizations across Africa, and the Asia – Pacific regions in both humanitarian and development contexts. She has a special interest in gender equality, inclusion, and the rights of people with disabilities, LGBT communities and other historically excluded groups. She holds a B.A in Political Science, an M.A in Development Studies and an M.Sc in Women’s Health.

Fukumi Orikasa

Protection Knowledge Management Specialist

Fukumi joined UN Action as a JPO funded by the Government of Japan in 2020 and pivoted to knowledge management work in 2024. She concurrently works with UN Women HQ on the Protection & CRSV portfolio to enhance UN Action and UN Women’s collaboration. Her previous experience in conflict & peacebuilding includes working for UN Women ROAP, Search for Common Ground, and the Kofi Annan Foundation. Fukumi holds a BA from the University of Rochester in History & Film & Media Studies and an MA from the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement in Conflict & Development. Fukumi is Japanese and Malaysian-Chinese.

Sarah Breslin

Knowledge Management Officer

Sarah joined UN Action to support the knowledge building pillar in 2025. She has worked in multilateral and international organizations on climate and water diplomacy, including aspects related to conflict prevention and gender equality. In her previous role at UN-Water, the UN internal coordination mechanism on freshwater issues, she led capacity-building efforts, including an interagency initiative involving 40+ UN entities and civil society organizations. Her experience of developing knowledge products for UN Country Teams includes best practice examples of SDG implementation from post-conflict contexts, such as Iraq, Cambodia and Rwanda. Originally from Sweden, Sarah holds an MA (Hons) in Economic History from the University of Edinburgh.

Aly Emeira

Women's Protection Officer

Aly is a Women’s Protection Officer at the UN Action Secretariat since 2024. In this role, he supports the UN Action Coordinator with external advocacy and resource mobilization, in addition to bridging the political affairs perspectives and the programmatic and coordination mandate under the Office of the SRSG on Sexual Violence in Conflict. Previously, he worked for several humanitarian and development actors, including the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO) as the Regional Development Coordination Specialist for Africa, and the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in the Central African Republic as the Gender Affairs and Sexual Violence Prevention Analyst. He holds an MA in EU Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from the College of Europe and an MA in International Relations from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.

Federica Antonioli

Political Affairs Consultant

Federica first joined the UN Action Secretariat in March 2025 as a Political Affairs Intern. She later transitioned into her current consultancy role, where she contributes to coordination, policy, and advocacy initiatives aimed at addressing conflict‑related sexual violence. Fluent in English, French, and Italian, Federica holds a dual Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Turin and Sciences Po Bordeaux. She has experience in diplomatic and multilateral environments, including prior roles with the Italian diplomatic service and with local NGOs focused on empowering women refugees and supporting their social integration. Her work centers on the intersection of gender, peace and security, international development, and human rights, with a particular regional interest in North Africa and the Middle East.
