Framework for the Prevention of Conflict-related Sexual Violence

Framework for the prevention of conflict-related sexual violence report cover

Our Framework for the Prevention of CRSV (‘Prevention Framework’) guides UN, CSOs, and Government practitioners on how to effectively prevent CRSV in a survivor-centred approach.

It articulates a two-track approach, suggesting that a holistic approach requires preventing CRSV from happening in the first place and preventing further harm to survivors and communities after CRSV has happened. The Prevention Framework is an essential resource for practitioners looking for definitions, explanations, and examples. Since 2022, UN Action has been rolling out the Prevention Framework by localising and adapting the guidance to specific country situations to strengthen prevention efforts coordinated across national actors, civil society, and the UN.
