This provisional guidance note provides operational guidance on implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1960 (2010) on conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV). It outlines the Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Arrangements (MARA), engagement with parties to conflict, reporting requirements, accountability mechanisms, and coordination responsibilities across the UN system to strengthen prevention, protection, reporting, and response efforts.
It was published in June 2011, jointly by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict (OSRSG-SVC) and UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict.
