This report explores the critical links between HIV and gender-based violence (GBV) in fragile, conflict-affected and humanitarian settings. Drawing on evidence from peace support operations across Africa, it highlights persistent gaps in prevention, response, training and accountability, while identifying opportunities for integrated, survivor-centred and human rights-based approaches.
The publication calls for stronger coordination across the humanitarian-development-peace nexus and provides practical recommendations to improve outcomes for people affected by HIV and gender-based violence in crisis settings.
