Developed through the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s Making All Spaces Safe initiative, this resource collection supports frontline responders in addressing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) through survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and safety-focused approaches. UNFPA, a member of the UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict (UN Action) network, works with partners to strengthen prevention, protection, and response efforts in an increasingly digital world.
The resources on this page provide practical guidance for responding to the risks and harms associated with technology-facilitated gender-based violence across humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding contexts. They support police, justice sector professionals, and other frontline responders to better understand survivor experiences, strengthen safety planning, improve access to justice, and respond effectively to technology-related forms of abuse.
This collection includes:
- TFGBV SHIELD: A Tech Safety Checklist for assessing technology-related risks and strengthening survivor safety.
- Trauma-Informed Policing Guidance for TFGBV to support police and law enforcement responses, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
- Trauma-Informed Justice Sector Guidance for TFGBV for judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and court personnel, developed in collaboration with UNODC.
