This resource was developed in 2011 through a UNICEF-OCHA initiative supported by the UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict Multi-Donor Trust Fund. It presents a preliminary framework for preventing conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) perpetrated by non-state armed groups (NSAGs), drawing on public health, conflict management and social norms approaches. The report identifies risk factors, influential actors and prevention strategies to inform future policy, programming and engagement efforts.
