Technical Meeting Resources: Psychosocial and Mental Health Support for CRSV Survivors (UNA015, 2012)

UN Action CRSV

In November 2011, WHO, UNFPA and UNICEF, on behalf of UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict, convened a technical meeting on responding to the psychosocial and mental health needs of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV). This initiative (UNA015) brought together experts and practitioners to strengthen understanding of effective, survivor-centred mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) approaches and to identify practical recommendations for humanitarian and development programming.

This resource page brings together key knowledge products developed on that occasion. The publications provide guidance on core principles and interventions, address common misconceptions surrounding mental health and psychosocial support, and offer practical recommendations for community-based programming in conflict-affected settings.

The resources are intended for humanitarian organizations, protection actors, health practitioners, policymakers, researchers and others working to support CRSV survivors.
