Developed with the support of UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict, this 2012 guidance from the United Nations Department of Political Affairs (DPA) Mediation Support Unit supports mediators and peace process actors in addressing conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) during negotiations, ceasefire agreements, security arrangements, and post-conflict justice and reparations. It provides practical principles, strategies, examples, and checklists to help strengthen accountability, protection, and sustainable peace.
