Comprehensive Strategy on Combating CRSV in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (2009)

Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict

Developed in 2009 with support from UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict (UN Action), this executive summary presents the Comprehensive Strategy for addressing conflict-related sexual violence (CRVS) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The framework brings together UN entities, government partners, and civil society around four strategic pillars: prevention and protection, survivor assistance, security sector reform, and combating impunity. The strategy established a coordinated platform for action and laid the foundation for stronger implementation, accountability, and support for survivors.
