Building Economic Empowerment for CRSV Survivors (CRSV_UNA07, 2023)

UN Action CRSV

Developed under the UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict (UN Action)-supported project “Building Socio-economic Resilience for Survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in South Sudan” (CRSV_UNA07, 2023-2025) this knowledge product, published in November 2025, presents the International Trade Centre’s (ITC) survivor-centred approach to economic empowerment through Trade-Related Technical Assistance (TRTA).

Drawing on practical experience, it explores how market-based livelihoods, financial inclusion, skills development, and integrated protection services can help survivors of CRSV rebuild dignity, resilience, and economic independence. The publication offers actionable lessons, implementation approaches, and recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, humanitarian actors, and development partners working at the intersection of economic recovery, protection, and peacebuilding.
